


Our Story
After many years of working in corporate HR, Summit HR Partners was born out of a desire to do HR differently. Corporate human resources departments have changed and evolved dramatically over the past 20 years, and they continue to change each year.
HR (aka: ‘Personnel’) started as a transactional function that managed the paperwork and tactical employee interactions. In the ‘post-personnel’ era, a great revolution took place and HR became more valuable by giving business leaders a strategic advantage. Successful leaders know their employees are their organization’s greatest asset, and HR leaders started to rise up and show organizations how to leverage that talent and provide opportunities for mutual success.
HR has once again seen significant change since the spring of 2020. With a global pandemic, followed by a period of intense cultural unrest, HR has had to pivot to help organizations remain agile in the marketplace. The corporate marketplace has been rattled since the spring of 2020, and most recently, the war for talent has taken a significant—and for some industries, crippling—toll on business. The HR department has become the corporate battleground for politics, cultural unrest, realignment of personal values, and the demands of conflicting personal and organizational priorities.
It’s been a lot to handle, right? If you are a business leader, you know. These challenges have taken a toll on your most valuable assets, and you likely want to do anything you can to retain your team MVPs. It’s this desire that birthed Summit HR Partners.

Jessica Benner, Founder and CEO
Jessica Benner has been in the Human Resources field for over twenty years. She has worked in numerous industries (including manufacturing, regulated manufacturing, engineering, life sciences, and digital data) across many types of business organizations (family-owned, privately held, publicly traded, US-based, multi-state, and global enterprises). Her work in HR has covered a wide range of subject areas including talent acquisition, employee benefits, compensation, performance management and coaching, leadership development, compliance, and employee relations to name a few. Jessica loves to partner with the leaders she supports to truly understand the challenges their businesses face and to help identify solutions to meet these challenges.
Jessica has a Master of Jurisprudence degree in Labor & Employment Law from Tulane University School of Law. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management from Gwynedd-Mercy University. In addition, Jessica is a Senior Certified Professional through the Society of Human Resource Management.
Jessica founded Summit HR Partners based on the values of integrity, trust, collaboration, and empathy. As a values-based organization, Summit HR will live these values every day by engaging with our clients and working together towards mutual goals. These values are not just words on the page, they are core to Jessica’s professional and personal life.

Jessica and her family are active in their local church and regularly support organizations such as Samaritan’s Purse, Love Without Boundaries Foundation, and other ministries supporting children and families in under-served communities.
In her free time, Jessica and her husband Jason enjoy traveling with their children, Megan, Matthew, and Makenna. Around home, she enjoys DIY projects, reading, crafting, and spending time with family and their two dogs, Finn and Harper.
